How Do You Make Elixirs in Tears of the Kingdom

Elixirs in Tears of the Kingdom are treated as food items. Therefore, you’ll have to use a cooking pot or Zonai portable pot to make elixirs. Naturally, with every elixir, there will also be a different set of ingredients you will have to use as well.

To be more specific, you’ll have to collect a variety of different monster parts and critters if you want to make elixirs. If you’re having issues finding a suitable cooking pot, then you can simply head on over to any village or stable and you’ll find a cooking pot there. If you decide to use the Zonai portable pot instead, then keep in mind that it’s a single use item and will instantly break after one use.

Combine at least one monster pot with one critter, and you’ll find yourself with one extra elixir in your inventory. Additionally, if you want to increase the potency of the elixir you’re making, you can combine other items that give the same buff. You can use this technique to combine up to five ingredients. However, if you decide to add an item that has a different buff, then the buffs will cancel each other out so be careful.

Monster parts are farmed by defeating monsters around Hyrule and collecting their body parts, while critters can be caught in the wilderness of Hyrule. Once you have the required ingredients to make an elixir, hold the desired ingredients by selecting the hold option in your inventory. Finally, drop the ingredients in the pot, and voila, you’ll have yourself an elixir.

Keep in mind that any monster part will work when making all of these elixirs. Additionally, as mentioned above, if you want to make the elixir more potent, that is, make the effect last longer, simply add in ingredients with the same effect. For example, if you’re making a Spicy Elixir, then adding spicy peppers should be a good idea since it also has cold resistance.
