The depths are a new type of explorable area in Tears of the Kingdom with new bosses, new enemies, and so much new loot to find. However, there’s just one tiny problem. Getting out of the depths isn’t as easy as getting into it. Fortunately, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to get out of the depths in Tears of the Kingdom.
Today, we’ll be telling you every way you can use to get out of the depths in Tears of the Kingdom to finally see some sunlight.

How Do You Get Out of the Depths in Tears of the Kingdom
Now, there are three ways you can get out of the depths in ToTK. You can fast travel out, you can look for a high point to use ascend, or you can complete the Fire Temple. Unfortunately, although it’s very easy to find yourself in the depths, it isn’t easy to get out of them. This is because the depths are, as the name suggests, very deep underground.
We’ll be going through all three of these methods from most useful to least useful to ensure you’re able to get out of the depths every time you find yourself in them.
Method #1: Fast Travelling
The first and easiest way of getting out of the depths in Tears of the Kingdom is to simply fast travel to a different location. To be more specific, you can fast travel to any shrine, Skyview Tower, or any other fast travel location you’ve unlocked at any point in time.
All you have to do is open the map and hit up on the d pad to either the surface level or the sky and then select a fast travel point that you’ve unlocked. This way, you’ll be out of the depths in no time.
Method #2: Using the Ascend Ability
Although the ascend ability is supposed to be the way players are to get out of the depths, the issue is that most of the time the surface area is too far away to ascent to. However, every now and then, you might be able to find an area that’s high enough that you’re able to use this brand new ability to claw your away back to the surface.
However, this method shouldn’t be relied upon because your stars will have to align if you want to be able to use it. This is because you must find either a pit on the surface low enough for the ability to work, or a hill high enough in the depths. The chances of either of these happening are pretty slim, and it’s much more convenient to simply fast travel out.
Method #3: Clearing the Fire Temple
Although this method only works once, the first time you clear the Fire Temple you’re automatically transported to the surface. Therefore, if you were concerned about having to leave the depths after clearing the Fire Temple of Goron City, you don’t need to worry any longer.
