One of the rarer ingredients in Hyrule is the Golden Apple, which heal a significant amount compared to regular apples. This guide will help players on where to find and how to get Golden Apples.

Where to Find Golden Apples in Tears of the Kingdom?
Golden Apples can be found in various places around Hyrule and its Sky Islands. The shiny fruit will grow on large trees, and alongside the regular red apples. Players happening upon fruit tress randomly across their travels should double-check the tree if it can be found there.
However, these special apples do grow in set places. One of the fastest places to obtain them early in the game is on the South Hyrule Sky Archipelago. The group of Sky Islands can be easily reached by launching from the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower, and then gliding with the paraglider south until seeing a lone island with three trees on it.
The coordinates for this island are (-0701, -1173, 0986). The tress will always spawn Golden and regular apples. They can be picked off the tress with the A button prompt, or the trees can be chopped down with a axe. Players can then dive down to the ground below, or fast travel to another location.
How to Use Golden Apples?
Golden Apples can be eaten on their own, and will heal Link for one-and-a-half hearts. Cooking just one apple in a pot over fire will create Simmered Fruit, which can heal Link for six hearts when eaten. Adding more of these apples to the mix for one recipe will increase the healing factor.
The apples can also be cooked alongside other ingredients to create combination foods that heal and give another status effect, such as stamina or heat resistance. Not many can be picked at one time, so it is best to cook them sparingly.
