Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a big game, and beating every challenge can take a considerable number of resources. There are shops out there to help, but it can be difficult to save up the Rupees for every piece of armor or material out there. That’s where having a good rupee farm comes in handy.
In any game, there are always going to be some solid money-makers and Tears of the Kingdom is no exception. There are a handful of ways players can make the most out of their time, and make sure they have the Rupees on hand for whatever their adventure calls for.
This guide will go over three ways players can get their hands on some fast cash. These methods also aren’t very progression-reliant, meaning players can use these methods at any stage of their journey.

What Are the Best Ways to Farm Rupees in Tears of the Kingdom?
- Cooking meat dishes
- Find and Hit Blupees
- Sell Gems, Especially to Beedle
Cooking Meat Dishes
Cooking dishes, especially meat dishes, can net players a good amount of Rupees if sold to stores. Dishes that use Prime and Gourmet meat especially can be sold for large amounts.
For example, throwing five pieces of meat in a cooking pot results in a meat skewer, and using gourmet meat results in a meat skewer that can be sold for 315 Rupees each.
To get gourmet meat, players should hunt moose, wolves, and bears in colder environments. These animals don’t work the same as other enemies and respawn naturally rather than only during a blood moon. Because of this, players can just swing through the same areas and hunt the same monsters, making a good chunk of Rupees each time.
The Snowfield Stable is a good point to start from, giving players a solid fast travel point to use to start a farming run. This area is in the cold, so cold-resistant clothing, food, or elixirs will be necessary here. Players should prepare themselves by gathering some spicy peppers to make some solid food, but the rewards will be more than worth the preparation.
Find and Hit Blupees
Blupees are an animal players will have likely seen on their travels, looking like glowing rabbits with small horns. If approached they run for a few moments before disappearing, so many players may not understand what they do. Blupees, when hit, spit out a large number of Rupees, making them an excellent way to nab some quick cash.
Because of their skittish nature, slowing time and hitting Blupees with a few shots from a bow is the best option for getting hits in. Players will need to go in carefully, as their skittish nature means they can disappear fast if not approached with care.
Blupees often spawn in wooded areas, and often at night. Players should note where they see Blupees, as they do tend to spawn in similar areas. While this method may not be as consistent as some of the others, the influx of fast cash players can get from these little creatures shouldn’t be overlooked.
Sell Gems, Especially to Beedle
Selling excess items to shops is an easy way to make money, and gems are some of the best items to sell. Caves, the Depths, and chasms usually have several ore rocks in them, marked by a shimmering animation when players see them. Going to break them with a weapon or bomb plant can get players a solid amount of gems fairly quickly.
Some of the best gems players can find are:
- Rock Salt
- Amber
- Ruby
- Opal
- Sapphire
- Topaz
- Diamond
While these gems can be sold to any shopkeep for a good amount of money, players will want to be on the lookout for Beedle the traveling merchant. Beedle wanders the world of Hyrule but is often found when a player travels to a stable. He will buy gems for higher prices than many other merchants, so stocking up on gems until Beedle can be found is a solid idea.
For players that are further in the game, other merchants can also be used. Ramella, a Gerudo merchant in Goron City, also buys gems for a good amount. Ramella is always there, so players may want to switch to using Ramella once Goron City is reached for the sake of convenience.
Bonus Methods
There are other, less consistent methods out there that players can partake in as well. Side quests usually reward a good number of Rupees. Players can help Addison prop up signs, which always gives a good chunk of Rupees and some sellable items. Clearing out monster bases with the Monster Control Crew grants some extra Rupees for something players may have already been doing.
There are tons of money-making methods out there in Tears of the Kingdom, so the best advice players can follow is to find the ones that they enjoy doing most and stick to them. Hyrule is huge, and all the content out there requires a good amount of Rupees. Players should take the game in stride and farm money when they need it. A few minutes of grinding will go a long way in the future.
