How Do You Climb Walls in Tears of the Kingdom
Climbing walls in Tears of the Kingdom is pretty easy. All you have to do is stand or jump toward the surface of a wall and Link will automatically grab hold of it. Hold the left analog stick up to ensure Link keeps climbing up.
However, one very important thing to keep in mind is the stamina bar. As you climb, you’ll find that the stamina bar will continuously deplete until it runs out. When it does run out, Link will automatically let go of the wall and fall down. As you can imagine, this is rather risky, especially if you’re high in the air when your stamina depletes.
Fortunately, there are ways to not only increase Link’s overall stamina but also to make climbing easier for Link, such as finding specific climbing gear.
How to Climb Ice Walls in Tears of the Kingdom
While journeying across Hyrule, eventually you’ll come across ice walls that you’ll have to climb. However, you’ll find that you won’t be able to climb them by using traditional means. Because of this, you’ll have to use one of three methods to climb ice walls.
The first way is by sticking together several pieces of logs by using the Ultrahand ability. By making the log ladder long enough and making it lean on the ice wall, you’ll be able to climb your newly made log ladder or log pole instead of the wall. When coming across ice walls near the start of the game with less equipment and options, this is most likely the method you’ll utilize.
The second way to climb ice walls in Tears of the Kingdom is by using any slip resistance equipment set. The more pieces of this type of equipment set you equip, the more your slip resistance will be until you’ll eventually be able to climb ice walls with little trouble. Slip resistance equipment sets include the Froggy gear set, climbing gear, and more.
Finally, you can cook and ingest a sticky elixir to get slip resistance. To make a sticky elixir, you have to combine either a Sticky Frog or a Sticky Lizard along with any monster part in a cooking pot.
How to Climb in the Rain in Tears of the Kingdom
Just like ice walls, if the wall you’re trying to climb is wet, then Link will simply slip down. A wall can be wet if it’s near a body of water or of it’s raining. Luckily, climbing a wet wall, is more or less the same as climbing an icy wall. Therefore, you can use any one of the methods we mentioned above.
- You could make a ladder of logs by using the Ultrahand ability and then climb that ladder instead of the wall itself.
- You could use some equipment that has slip resistance to make climbing these walls easier.
- You could use sticky elixir to increase your slip resistance and allow Link to climb wet walls during the rain.
