The release date for WWE 2K24 is just around the corner, launching later this week on March 8. The new entry from Visual Concepts and 2K is set to arrive across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in three separate editions, including the almighty Forty Years of WrestleMania. In the new title, you’ll experience some of the biggest moments throughout WWE history with plenty of new opportunities to curate iconic rivalries in the universe of your making. So, what is Universe mode in WWE 2K24 and how has it changed? Let’s go over everything you need to know before you enter the ring this week.

What Is Universe Mode in WWE 2K24?
In WWE 2K24, Universe mode allows you to create all-new feuds between superstars to produce unique, never-before-seen moments. Just as you’ll relive iconic fights throughout WWE history, this mode essentially gives you a chance to make history yourself. Although Universe isn’t anything new for the franchise, 2K has come through with several fresh features to explore in this long-standing game mode to bring new rivalries to life.
How Has Universe Mode Changed in WWE 2K24?
While no extensive changes have been made to Universe mode in WWE 2K24, fans of the franchise can expect to see a few tweaks with the release of the new title this month. Publisher 2K has promised a handful of enhancements, including expanded rivalry actions, brand-new cutscenes, and double-title matches.
With the release date coming up at the tail-end of this week, however, some players have already expressed disappointment regarding the game mode, stating barely any changes have been made thus far. Several other modes — like MyFaction and MyRISE — seem to have taken precedence over Universe. In turn, the player base is largely dissatisfied with the apparent lack of direction when it comes to older features. One fan even suggested the fan-favorite Universe mode is in need of a complete overhaul.
Despite concerns, most agree that 2K19’s Universe mode should serve as the blueprint in the coming seasons. As dedicated players hope for the return of similar features, we’ll need to wait and see what Visual Concepts and 2K have in store for 2K24 at launch this week.
