As it currently stands, Wuthering Waves has no “pets”, in the manner other games do. The closest it has are “Echos”, and they are more like a combat buff than anything else. The concept of pets in an RPG is getting more and more popular, and even online shooters, like The First Descendant, are having them. So the players are wondering: is it time to add Pets to Wuthering Waves?
Wuthering Waves Should Add Pets, Claim the Players
There is a Wuthering Waves event that just released today, called Rinascita Echo Fiesta. It is a web-based event (ie, not an in-game one) where you can get a bunch of new Echoes completely for free. Some of them offer bonuses, ie, are equipable, while others are there just for the Event mechanics. A lot of them are extremely cute (the Tubpup being the favorite) and the players want them as pets.
One Redditor, named justheretobehere_1, started a thread saying that it is a shame that the most adorable new Echoes are not equippable. They offer ideas on how to implement those guys into the game.
“So I was thinking what if the dev make another Echo Feature where we can use all Echoes even the unusable one as Pet follow us around, make them jump, etc.
We technically don’t have to hunt them to drop Echoes to use them, Maybe the dev can create a place like a collection with tier of each Echo where hunting a certain echo a certain time unlock more cool moves from the echo as pet, this will solve the non equip-able echo issue.”
They finish by saying how adding pets would make the game more lively since you won’t be doing the exploration alone anymore. You’d have a pet to follow you around.
Unsurprisingly, others join in, with DreamJMan15 saying: “A little Dreamless to follow me around would be awesome”, and joenaton asking: “Bell turtle pet when?” Some even jokingly offer a Pokemon-like solution. Even though hilarious, it would be a bit too much, and not in the spirit of the game.
But having a little pal to follow you around, just because, would be a cool addition. As OP suggested, they’d be there just for show, and not get in the way when the fighting begins (that Echoes’ job). WuWa only has limited multiplayer, so adding pets wouldn’t be much of a strain on the servers. We hope it’s only a matter of time before Kuro does something about this.
