Unauthorized sharing of content and “leaks” may do more harm than good. Players can get hyped about something that is nowhere near completion, or a scrapped project altogether. This can only lead to disappointment for the players and more stress for the devs. On that topic, Kuro had an official statement.
Kuro’s Official Dissemination Statement
On September 9, the Wuthering Waves developer team issued an official statement.
“Dear Rovers,
Wuthering Waves Developer Team
We have noticed that unreleased Wuthering Waves content has been leaked onto social media platforms. Disseminating incomplete information about the game may undermine players’ enjoyment of the game as a whole, dampen the enthusiasm of content creators, and disrupt the development of future content. To maintain the health of our community, any unauthorized disclosure of Wuthering Waves content is strictly prohibited. Let’s work together to prevent such behavior, and we appreciate your continued support for Wuthering Waves.”
The Players Would Love a Roadmap or Some Previews
Even though the players are with Kuro on this, the question of some official previews arose. Fans noticed that these “unauthorized” leaks are practically the only way how they get any info on upcoming content. “Seeing leaks on my page is frustrating, but I think more advertisement for future characters would definitely help,” said KazahanaEdits. ‘…On the company side just leak your own info. To build hype like dev posts and trailers. That pretty much kills the leak scene.” added ScionStormTV. An official roadmap, or at least some previews, would work wonders here.
Others say that kit previews would be of immense help in planning your pulls and farming. “It’s to help me plan my pulls, Kuro. like in every other gacha game” said SwashNBuckle on Reddit, and “Character kit leaks help players plan spending and only generate hype tbh” added Redditor76394.
While Kuro keeping everything to themselves will protect the development of future content, some official teasers and previews will surely hype up the community and keep the players engaged, until the official release. Some middle ground can certainly be found.
