One of the most thrilling aspects of Hogwarts Legacy is taming and caring for magical beasts. While there’s no shortage of common beasts like Mooncalves and Fwoopers, others can only be found in small numbers. In some cases, just one beast of a certain species can be caught at once, such as the Graphorn.
Such is the case when it comes to the coveted and elusive Phoenix. While franchise fans were undoubtedly excited to obtain this mythical creature when Hogwarts Legacy was first released, many were taken aback when they learned that you can only capture one Phoenix in the game.
With that, where can you find a Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy? On your mission to stop Victor Rookwood and his poacher followers, you will be given an opportunity to tame one of these beasts. Here’s how.

Where Can You Catch a Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy?
Once you’ve completed several main story quests, including The Helm of Urkot, Deek will give you another quest entitled Phoenix Rising. To obtain the only Phoenix in the game, you must complete this quest.
A quest marker can be used to guide you through the Phoenix Rising quest, which leads to a cave just outside of Hogwarts. You’ll come face-to-face with many poachers and spiders along the way, so come prepared with Wiggenweld Potions to heal up.

How To Catch a Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy?
While capturing other types of beasts often requires the use of control spells like Levioso and Glacius, you won’t need to use the same technique to capture the Phoenix. In fact, it seems that the Phoenix wants you to capture it in a display of gratitude. Just use your nab-sack to get the job done.
Because this is the only Phoenix you can capture in Hogwarts Legacy, you won’t be able to breed it in your Vivarium, either. This comes as a disappointment to many franchise fans, but it does make capturing this beast all the more rewarding. Not to mention, it’s fitting when you take into consideration the lore behind the Phoenix, which maintains that each is continually reborn from its own ashes.
Be sure to care for this beast with helpful spellcrafts like the Beast Feeder and the Beast Toybox, which can be purchased at Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade. With great care, the Phoenix will provide you with Phoenix Feathers to upgrade your gear.
