The Golden Cicada Shells can be given to a strange man, who will occasionally reward you with random weapons or equipment from the game’s loot table.
Once you’ve collected the Golden Cicada Shells, you can use them by heading over to the hidden village in Mount Tianzhushan and giving the shells to the Golden Cicada Shell Hermit sitting on top of the tall wooden tower.

When you arrive in the village, you’ll see a pretty tall tower you can climb with vines. Starting from the spawn point, go left of the battle flag and use the vine. Afterward, proceed down the stairs and cross three more sets of vines to reach the tower.
Climb the tower using the vines wrapped around it, and you’ll find a particular individual at the top who is enthusiastic about collecting Golden Cicada Shells.
What Is The Reward For The Golden Cicada Shell In Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty?
Once you give the hermit all the shells available in the game, you’ll unlock the Ascension Trophy or Achievement.
If you speak to the man a few more times and then leave the level upon returning to the roof, you’ll discover that he has vanished, leaving behind the Golden-Cicada-Obsessed Hermit’s Scribblings tablet.
What To Do When The Man Stops Accepting Golden Cicada Shells
After you’ve given him three Golden Cicada Shells, the man will stop accepting them. However, once he stops accepting them, you must leave the Hidden Village and complete a different battlefield before returning to Mt. Tianzhushan to continue giving him more shells.
Going back and forth on a different battlefield to get your hands on some in-game rewards, is completely optional.
