Curious about the Dead Island 2 level cap? This action-packed zombie game offers various ways to gain experience points (XP), but reaching the highest level may take some time. If you’re unsure about the exact level to aim for, we can help clarify the maximum level you can achieve in Dead Island 2.
Dead Island 2 Max Level
Dead Island 2 has a maximum level of 30, which is a fair distance away from the level you finish the main story at, which is around level 22. The best way to reach the level cap is to complete as many Dead Island 2 quests as possible, as they are the primary source of XP and can reward you with thousands at once. So complete any side quests and any Lost and Found quests as soon as you can.
Additionally, don’t shy away from killing any Dead Island 2 zombies, especially the Variants, as you can get some extra XP that way. Heading to Hot Spots is a perfect way to get zombie parts and to get the extra XP from killing variants.

As you level up in Dead Island 2, the rarity of the weapons you find and earn will slowly increase. You start with common (white) and uncommon (green) weapons but end up finding rare (blue) and epic (purple) weapons all over the place. However, you can’t find legendary (orange) weapons as standard loot.
These come in the form of quest rewards only. So if you’re not finding the weapon quality you’re hoping for, keep playing and leveling up, and eventually, you’ll get there. Reaching level 30 in Dead Island 2 earns you the Max Headroom trophy/achievement.
