Vampire Survivors became a surprise hit last year when the small roguelite survival game captured players with its bombastic pixel visuals and low price. It was a single-player game when it first released, but developer poncle will be adding a multiplayer mode to the game with a free update to the PC, Xbox consoles, and Nintendo Switch on August 17. This guide will show players how to play multiplayer and how it will work in the game.
How To Play Multiplayer in Vampire Survivors
Vampire Survivors multiplayer supports up to four players in local co-op. That means players cannot join each other online, and must be in the same room playing on one screen. Although, it will work with the Steam Remote Play Together feature. The multiplayer is also co-op only, and there are no competitive modes in the game.
Each player can press to join at the character select screen before the map can be chosen and the game will start. Unfortunately, each player will have to choose a different character, and cannot have doubles.
How Does Multiplayer Work in Vampire Survivors?
Multiplayer works the same way in vampire Survivors as single-player, but four characters will occupy the same screen. Players will also stay within the one screen, so everyone must agree to move in one direction to get to other parts of the map.
The XP bar and selecting weapons will also remain the same, but players will level up in turns and the amount of weapons to have to change. Players also turn into coffins when defeated, but will revive after a certain amount of time as long as enemies do not get to it.
