Some Leaks Claim to Know Which Maps Will Return to the Competitive Map Pool in Valorant

Valorant Map Rotation

As you probably know, not all the maps are available all the time in Comp. According to some leaks, the map pool will change in mid-October, giving the Valorant players some variety and an opportunity to come up with new strategies. This also means that the players will get a break from some maps. Which maps would you like to see gone?

Leaks Suggest Two Maps Will Change In Valorant Competitive Pool

An account that specializes in Valorant leaks shared some unverified, but very exciting, news. The post read: “REMINDER // Patch 9.08 // Competitive Map Pool Rotation // PEARL and SPLIT are returning to the Competitive map pool! ICEBOX and LOTUS will be rotating out of the Competitive map pool”.

Although the community is mostly pleased with the possible new additions/removals, there is one map that they can’t wait to see gone. Nausicaä noted: “Why has Ascent been in the Competitive pool for so long? I used to love that map but now it’s tiring seeing it so often. I am happy Pearl is back tho! Missed it”.

Why Aren’t All the Maps in the Map Pool?

Even though these leaks were quite intriguing, some Valorant players claimed that Comp would be much better if all the maps were in the map pool. Obvious-Shelter5587 said: “I don’t really understand why the map rotation even exists. I think they should just have every map in the pool”.

Well, as you know, all the maps are unlocked in Unranked. There might be a simple reason behind making a map pool for Comp – variety. It sounds counterintuitive, but once a map returns in rotation, it usually feels new, even though players played it before.

MarkusKF explained: “The point is to variate the experience. If they never changed maps people would stop playing after a while because it’s just the same over and over again”. The number of people asking for Ascent to be removed from the pool only confirms this.

Playing something that became tiring might lead to burnout, and even though this community will gladly stand by every member, changing up the maps seems like an efficient way to keep things fresh. Honestly, despite this being unconfirmed, we can’t wait for Pearl, one of our all-time favorites. Which map would you like to play again?
