The ability to remake helps you counter one of the most frustrating things that can happen in Valorant. Having an AFK player on your team. The remake feature is often overlooked by players, even though it can save you from losing your rank rating. In this guide, we’ll cover how to Remake a match in Valorant and when you can do it.

How Do You Remake a Match in Valorant?

To remake a match, you need to type ‘/remake’ in chat. You can only queue for a remake in the second round if you have a teammate who has abandoned or gone AFK in the first round. This will trigger a vote which the remaining players have to agree to by pressing F5. If the remaining four players on your team agree to a remake, the match ends in an effective draw. The only player that is penalized is the AFK player.

Once the match is remade, the AFK player will receive an AFK offense and may lose RR (Rank Rating). It’s important to make sure that no one rejects the remake vote. The vote has to be unanimous. If even one person rejects the vote, you will spend the game as a 4v5 until your missing teammate returns.

Rules for a Remake

Bear in mind, that you can’t remake whenever there’s an AFK in your team. There are specific rules to qualify for a remake vote.

Firstly, you can only remake in the second round of the game. Once the first round is finished, you can queue the remake vote at any point in the second round. As long as all the remaining team members vote “Yes”, the match will be remade.

Second, a person won’t count as AFK just because they disconnected in the middle of the first round. On most occasions, Valorant lets a person stay active for one more round as long as they were active in the previous round.

That means that if your teammate moved, bought, or shot their weapon during the first round, they probably won’t count as an AFK player. This means in the second round they will likely spawn in as the game won’t consider them AFK. You can only be sure of a remake when you see the text “Player X has gone AFK and will not spawn in this round” at the start of the second round.

Another thing you should note is that you can’t opt for a remake while in a five-stack, regardless of how many players go AFK. This system is in place as most players in the five-stack will likely know each other and can bear the responsibility of unexpected circumstances on their teammates’ end.
