Can you play Outcast Triels over different platforms? Because the game is the first multiplayer game in the series, it is only natural to wonder if The Outlast Trials has a crossplay feature.

The Outlast Trials is a cooperative first-player psychological horror survival game, set during the Cold War. Murkoff Corporation is testing new brainwashing and mind-control techniques, on involuntarily collected subjects. Players are forced to endure different Trials while trying to hide and avoid terrifying enemies.

Fortunately, the horrors and monstrous enemies do not need to be encountered alone. Up to four players can come together to solve various Trials, and share in all the scares the game has to offer. Although the game is meant to be played with others, you can complete the game alone.

Does The Outlast Trials have crossplay support?

Yes, The Outlast Trials does have a Crossplay feature. The game is currently in Early Access and is only playable on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. However, that is going to change once the game fully launches. Currently, using the “Outlast Friends” in-game option, players from both digital stores – Steam and Epic – can link up with each other. This feature makes it easy for players to connect with other players regardless of the platform they are using.

Moreover, with the upcoming full release of The Outlast Trials, developers Red Barrels have confirmed their support for this feature in the future. This is great news, taking into account that the game is going to be released on multiple platforms.

Is cross-progression going to be supported in The Outlast Trials?

Although crossplay is a feature in the game, developers Red Barrels have clarified that cross-progression is not going to be supported. This means that there is no option to transfer your save across multiple platforms. Moreover, every time you want to play the game on a different platform, you will have to start from the beginning.
