We had a massive update recently, but Nexon is not slowing down. They said they plan to improve the quality and frequency of the updates and we know that the next one will go live in just a few days. The First Descendant Hotfix 1.2.8 is scheduled for February 20, and here’s what to expect.

In the last devlive, The First Descendant devs talked about the upcoming changes and how they will postpone Season 3 for Summer. The expected changes and improvements will remain the same, it’s just that what was supposed to be Season 3 will now be Season 2 Episode 2 (and will add new story elements, concerning Gley and her daughter), and the “new” Season 3 (scheduled for early Summer) will be bigger and better. As for the updates, Nexon revealed the date and some contents of the 1.2.8 Hotfix.

The First Descendant – What to Expect From Hotfix 1.2.8, Scheduled for February 20?

During the devlive, Nexon revealed what we can expect from the next update. As it is getting closer and closer, we figured a reminder is in order. Hotfix 1.2.8 will primarily deal with External Components, an often overlooked aspect of the game (compared to the rest of the equipment, that is), and some Module adjustments.

February 20 Patch Details

  • External Component Set Effect Rebalance
    • Invader Set
    • Bravery Set
    • Volcanic Set
  • External Component Set Effect Improvements
    • Distorted Resolve
    • Frozen Heart
    • Hungry Sonic
  • Module Balance Adjustments
    • Improved Short Status Effects Duration Of Certain Ultimate Modules
    • Adjusted Stats For Low-usage Modules
    • Changed Groups Of Certain Ultimate Modules To Improve Combinations With Key Ultimate Modules

Some improvements to External Component farming are also on the way. First, the number of External Components that drop after a Colossus battle will be increased. Second, the Components previously only obtainable in Void Intercept Battles will start dropping in 400% Infiltrations as well.

The goal is for those lesser-used Modules to see more “screen time”. We will most definitely get more patch details as February 20 draws closer.
