They’re at it again! Yesterday we got the Thanksgiving Event and now The First Descendant devs are celebrating the Nexon 30th Anniversary Event. It is similar to Freyna’s Encrypted Vault Shop we had earlier, but this time the rewards are much better and the fans actually like it. The event runs from Thursday, November 21, 20:00 PST to Wednesday, December 11, 22:59 PST.
How to Access Nexon 30th Anniversary Event
This may put some people off, but the login method is the same as it was for Freyna’s Encrypted Vault Shop. That one was notorious for literally destroying people’s game progress because some players lost all of their progress when creating a new Nexon ID and linking it to their game. Unsurprisingly, this had a huge backlash, and some even quit the game altogether. So, when some fans saw that logging into this new event is basically the same, they “noped” out. And about that login method, here’s how we’ve done it:
- Go to Nexon 30th Anniversary Event page.
- Log in using our Nexon ID.
- We are now logged into the event but can’t claim any rewards.
- The requirement is to log into the game as well so we booted up TFD.
- Start playing and run around Albion for 5 seconds (we used that time to claim the Thanksgiving Spray!).
- Minimize The First Descendant (we’re using a PC) and refresh the Nexon 30th Anniversary Event page.
- The Claim Rewards button should be available now.
- Claim both rewards and be on your merry way!

Note that if you claim a reward on the webpage and it does not appear in the game, simply go back to the Title Screen (“Leave Game” option) and log back in. Worked for us.
The Fans Are Happy, Even Though Some Don’t Want to Risk It
The rewards are very good this time and the fans love them. The best part is that you can pick and choose which blueprint you want (the previous iteration was slightly limited in that regard). “This time there are only viable weapons, while the Freyna event only had weapons no one uses. Nice!“ said Jiaozy on Reddit, and “Very generous, thank you for your hard work!” added vjs_gdd2 on X.
On the flip side, a lot of the fans are disappointed with ANOTHER website event. “I hate these website based events. We went from in-game to website to in-game to website,” said fnv_fan. Some even do not want to risk it by creating a Nexon ID and logging in, as the previous event caused a lot of trouble that way. “…there’s gotta be a better way than secluding a whole group of players who don’t want to link accounts. I don’t wanna risk losing my 900 hours of progress just for a few free rewards,” said JustAnotherParticle, and “1500 hours here, really wanted the Freyna makeup but too scared to link when i heard people were getting progress erased,” added EccentricOx.
More level-headed parts of the community say that these website-based events are commonplace in Asia, it’s just that the “Western” world is not familiar with them.
In any case, we truly hope that the Nexon 30th Anniversary Event goes without any trouble and that we don’t lose any more The First Descendant players.
