It is less than 10 days until we get the next major update. Additionally, the next DevLive is just around the corner. We saw the roadmap and vaguely know what to expect, but Nexon has been kind enough to give us a small preview of what improvements to Void Erosion Purges to expect, with the upcoming The First Descendant Update.

TFD is in a peculiar place right now. The devs have been making some good changes to the game to keep the players around, but the Ines nerf and various connection issues have rubbed a lot of players the wrong way. Still, Nexon is trying to improve the game as much as possible, and we have a new major update to look forward to and an ever-popular dev broadcast. We know that Ultimate Blair is on the way, but what about other improvements? On that note, the devs have shared a preview of what to expect for Void Erosions.

Upcoming Improvements for Void Erosion Purges in The First Descendant

Nexon just released a short Dev Note (vol. 15) in which Minseok Joo discusses Void Erosion Purge changes that will be implemented in the upcoming April 17 update.

He says that they plan to listen to community feedback and act on it as much as they can. The Void Erosion Purges have been designed to focus on Firearms, but over time, the community noted that it was getting repetitive and too simplistic, having only to rely on your guns and almost ignoring your skills.

“To address this, we’ve redefined Void Erosion Purge as a farming-oriented content for core item acquisition and redesigned the combat flow to better harmonize firearms and skills. Starting from Stage 21, skill damage based on attributes has been significantly enhanced. This change makes it more important to strategically deploy Descendants with advantageous elements, increasing the tactical depth of each encounter.”

Minseok Joo finishes by saying that the goal of these changes is to reduce the reliance on just a couple of weapons and Descendants, so the players have more viable choices when it comes to characters, loadouts, strategies, etc.

The devs proceed to share two videos where they show the final Stages of the “new” Void Erosion Purges.

The April 17 update, with these changes and Ultimate Blair, will surely be a good one. Fingers crossed!
