Some The First Descendant Players Advocate For Two Void Abyss Bosses in Rotation

As it stands now, only one Colossus gets the Abyss version. That can grow old pretty fast, and some players advocate for two Void Abyss bosses in rotation to shake things up a bit and make The First Descendant less monotonous.

It is no secret that the endgame content in TFD is a bit lacking. It all boils down to repeating the same missions/bosses in hopes of getting some better loot. Sure, it is a looter shooter game after all, but some more variety would do wonders for the game. Lord knows it needs it, as the player count has hit an all-time low. Now, some players have a simple solution to make things a bit more bearable until Nexon hopefully makes some serious improvements (there were mentions of some open-world content and “world bosses”).

Two Void Abyss Bosses in Rotation in The First Descenadnt – A Great Idea or More Harm Than Good?

In a recent Reddit discussion, one player proposed the idea of having two different Void Abyss Colossi available to fight. “Seriously, there’s only so many times one can want to kill Defiler, and given there’s a cap on the vouchers even if you go ham to try and unlock all outfits eventually you’re going to get sick of it.”

They continue by saying that having two bosses would keep things interesting, as you’d have the option of switching between different characters and trying out different builds. More variety is always good. Facing the same boss over and over again does get stale after a while.

A Lot of Players Think the Same

This idea was welcomed by a lot of players, who added that having different end-game bosses would sure help in preventing burnout and inspire players to have more than one build for these kinds of battles.

“I definitely agree. I main Luna and Viessa. Originally thought they were going to be rotated frequently so I can use both…” said Brookschamp90, and “I like this. And it makes it feel better to build a new descendant for these bosses since you can always cycle back to them. I built Hailey JUST for infernal walker and now she feels like a waste of resources. I don’t need her for anything, “ added sucram200.

Drawbacks

Alternatively, some The First Descendant players point out the drawbacks of having two Void Abyss bosses in rotation. Their main concern is that with two bosses, the matchmaking pool would be spread out even further. “I would like more bosses too but humans are impatient on getting into a match,“ said mack180. “You’re making a good point! This game is fast paced and the matchmaking often is very swift. Now that I’m thinking about it, I grow impatient when it takes more than 40 seconds to match,“ agreed ahmmu20.

And the OP mentioned, “one downside is that players may avoid the newer content to keep their comfort zone”.

Some variety in the endgame would go a long way in TFD. Sure, there are different kinds of missions, but they all boil down to doing the same thing all over again. While we are not developers here, we do think that keeping two bosses would not require that much work. The framework is already there. Hopefully, Nexon will make some serious improvements in the upcoming Episode 2.
