“Revive! More Pick Ups! Roll Over!” The First Descendant Fans Offer Their Ideas On What Fellows Should Be Able to Do in the Future

Fellows are the new addition to TFD, added in Season 2. It was only a matter of time until we got pets in the game. We first got cats as Back Attachments and now we have dogs as Arche Fellows, there to follow us around and help out. For starters, Fellows pick up items around us and can even automatically dismantle them. But surely Nexon is not stopping there. It is highly improbable that Fellows will stay as they are and some changes in the future are almost guaranteed. On that note, The First Descendant fans got together and started to speculate what Fellows should be able to do in the future, in addition to picking up and dismantling.

The First Descendant Fans Discuss the Future of Fellows

The Fellows arrived in the form of the Hagios Sheepdog, with two functions: to pick up items around you and to automatically dismantle them. Additionally, they passively increase the drop rates on some rare items, namely the Keelan chests. It is almost guaranteed that more functions will be added in the future, and the fans offer their ideas and speculations.

One of the most popular ones is not a function per se, but fans would love to see more variety when it comes to Fellows themselves. More dog breeds, cats, and even drones. “I’d like some different fellows.. like maybe a bird for your ecive idea, since they’ll have a birds eye view, or a cat for hp/mp balls…Etc” said StupidanLearning

Another popular idea is to allow your fellows to revive you. As some fans pointed out, real-life dogs are trained to do compressions for CPR, so this would be the most “sensible” addition. Of course, this should only happen once in a while, not to eliminate the whole DBNO mechanic. Or better yet, Fellows could speed up the revival.

Some players suggested that Fellows should be able to pick up nearby Health and MP “orbs” that enemies sometimes drop. It is very frustrating when they disappear right in front of you, so having a Fellow deal with them while you’re fighting would be cool. However, not everyone thinks this would be a good decision. “I’m actually against this bc that would make the game too easy…you basically have regenerative health. Plus, part of the strategy of combat is choosing when you wanna pick up the hp/mp orbs “ said 000extra. On the other hand, picking up ammo could be pretty useful.

These are the most prominent ideas, but there are tons of “smaller ones”. One of the cooler suggestions is, if not being able to pick up Health/MP drops, Fellows could maybe spawn them occasionally, or better yet, create those yellow ones, that grant you temporary buffs. But our favorite is to allow Fellows to pick up (or at least pull closer) those “samples” that some missions have, that you have to pick up from downed enemies and carry back to a container. However, kudos to mibuokami for stating: “I would like my doggy to have their own grapple hook. It kinda bothers me to see them jump down into the abyss every time I zip over a cliff…”

The possibilities are endless. Most likely Nexon will add new types of Fellows, and each will provide different bonuses to their Descendants. That way, each player can have a Fellow that complements their playstyle. Hopefully, Nexon will reveal more info in the upcoming devtalks.
