Previous Battle Pass Weapons Will Make a Return in The First Descendant

The First Descendant title screen with battle pass ultimate weapons: Excava and Sigvore's Proof

The highly-requested option of getting previous Battle Pass weapons will become a reality very soon. Starting with the January 16 update of The First Descendant, those Battle Pass weapons will make a return.

Battle Pass weapons proved to be a double-edged sword. The idea of getting an Ultimate Weapon for free (usually) via a Battle Pass is generally a good one. Rewarding players for simply playing the game is always a nice move On the other hand, making those weapons Battle Pass exclusive was the issue. If you happen to miss out on even one of them you won’t be able to use the full potential of the weapon. Remember that you can enhance the Unique Ability of Ultimate weapons by “merging” two copies of the same one, and you need four copies in total to fully enhance a weapon. Battle Passes offer exactly four copies, so a single mistake can cost you. Players asked for alternative means of getting those weapons back for a while now, and Nexon finally answered.

The First Descendant Weapons Previously Only Available in the Battle Pass Will Make a Return

During the recent dev livestream, we heard a lot about the upcoming second update of Season 2. They talked about the new Void Erosion missions, Ines, various QoL changes, and more. During that last one, they mentioned that weapons previously only available through Battle Passes would make a comeback.

Sigvore’s Proof and Excava, Ultimate Weapons only obtainable through Preseason and Season 1 Battle Passes, respectively, will be once more available to get a hold of. Both of these weapons will be obtainable through “limited weapon trading”, Sigvore’s Proof from January 16, and Excava from the upcoming March update. The devs mention “limited weapon trading”, so we are unsure if these weapons will be here to stay, or will this be a limited-time offer.

Blueprints for these weapons can be purchased from Deslin in Albion. “Support Coins are needed for limited weapon trading which can be claimed through other Infiltration Supports”. We are unsure if these are the same as Supply Coins, but we will find out more as soon as the update drops. Furthermore, the Blueprints can also be purchased at ETA-0’s shop, giving us a different avenue for getting those Battle Pass weapons.

If they continue like this, we expect to see Voltia available for research in future updates. We all know that a lot of players either didn’t finish the Battle Passes in time, or accidentally dismantled those exclusive Ultimate Weapons, and have time and time again asked Nexon to give them a hand. Once more, they delivered.
