The situation with Skins in TFD is a weird one. On the one hand, you have Descendant Skins which are widely praised by the players (arguably the best part of the game) and are what the majority spend their real money on. On the other hand, you have skins for weapons, which rarely anyone uses. The issue with them is that the skins are for “Blue/Green” weapons only, which everyone surpasses pretty quickly since there are way better “Purple” and Ultimate weapons. And who can forget the infamous Paint system? What The First Descendant Players are asking is that we get some Ultimate Weapon Skins (the ones that players are actually using), or at least the option to repaint them.
Players Want to Change the Ultimate Weapon Skins in The First Descendant
We can all agree that the current weapon skin options are a waste of space. An unfortunate fact, but no one uses those weapons when you can easily get Tamer, or some Ultimate Weapons, like the Thunder Cage, Fallen Hope, or Divine Punishment. Those existing skins do look cool but are wasted.
What Nexon should do instead is to give u skins for Ultimate Weapons. Those are the weapons that the players predominantly use. The current Battle Pass is based on players’ feedback, but we still have those “regular” weapon skins. “No idea why they haven’t been a part of the BP, especially in the last season after they had an entire pre-season worth of feedback that very few people liked the fact we got skins for blue and purple guns.“ said Multiguns. The OP, SneakiLyme, added: “I feel like they could have released skins for the “easy” to get Legendary weapons such as Thunder Cage, Fallen Hope, etc – the ones that only require 4 blueprints and no other materials – the majority of the player base appears to have these unlocked.“ Some players say that they are more than willing to pay real money for them.
Or At Least Repaint Them
If making new skins for Ultimate weapons is out of the question, Nexon could at least give the players the option to use Paints on their current weapons. The biggest culprit here is the Secret Garden Tactical Rifle, with its weird metallic pink color. “Even if they never add legendary weapon skins, I just want to be able to color them. I’m utterly sick of the static skin mismatching my drip.” said TheRealPenanc3, and “I just wanna paint my secret garden a metallic green instead of pink.” added Late-Proffesional163.
You can really notice when a gun does not match the rest of the outfit, and since the majority of TFD players want to look their best, the aesthetics of their weapons can be a big deal. There is already an in-game system for Weapon Skins, so it wouldn’t be much trouble for Nexon to expand on it. One can hope.
