You’d expect that a new character (or, in this case, a new Ultimate version of an existing one) would be the main attraction of a major update. As it turns out, The First Descendant players are all about the new Bouncing Ball Emote that was just added, saying that while it seems innocent, its true purpose is way more…unsavory.
On April 17, we got the long-awaited update for TFD, which added Ultimate Blair, a ton of new Modules, a Medals system, a new difficulty for Void Erosios Purges, External Components, and more. And, of course, as with every update, the Shop has received some new items. This time, it is mostly stuff for Blair, with some goofy cosmetics on his side, like the already famous and incredibly silly Corn skin (“Dandy Corn”). However, one of the new Emotes took all the attention as the players realized what its “true” purpose was and why the devs had added an Emote like that.
The First Descendant – The Bouncing Ball Emote Is Rising in Popularity Due to “Unsavory” Reasons
The latest update added two new Emotes to the Shop: Confusion Tactics and Bouncing Ball. The latter is the focus of this article, and it summons a huge bouncing ball, just like the one kids use, which the Descendant will “mount” and bounce on. Kinda innocent and a bit silly, until you realize something…
The Dynamic Motion (colloquially known as Jiggle Physics) is scheduled to be added in the May update. The combination of the Dynamic Motion and the bouncing up and down will certainly raise some eyebrows. Let’s be real, Nexon has been pretty shrewd in their business tactics, and it is hard to deny the appeal of this Emote, especially when the May update arrives.
It is hard not to imagine the sales of this Emote exploding after the Dynamic Motion feature is added to the game. Various social media are getting more and more flooded with GIFs and videos of people using this emote, with comments like “Yep we all know why they added that emote.” by KungFuMan36, or “So when they add jiggle physics, this emote will be spammed for a week straight.” added DBR87 on Reddit.
While we do appreciate a bit of naughtiness as much as anyone, the community is having a bit of an issue with the oversexualization of the game. True, the devs have recently put more effort into game content, other than skimpy skins. Here’s to hoping they don’t get sidetracked again.
