The First Descendant Players Share Their Ideas for New Endgame Content

Even though TFD is predominantly about the grind, we can’t hide the fact that the game is lacking in some serious endgame content. The closest we got to endgame stuff is Invasions and 400% Infiltrations, and they are somewhat similar. And of course, there is always the next big bad – a new Colossus. Sure, you can grind for some cool stuff in there (like parts for Hailey, Ultimate Freyna, Vouchers, etc), but it does get repetitive quickly. On that subject, The First Descendant players got together and shared some of their ideas for new endgame content, inspired by what works in similar games, hoping Nexon would take notice.

The First Descendant Is Lacking in Endgame Content and Players Share Some New Ideas

When you upgrade your favorite Descendant and weapons to the fullest, there is nothing much for you to do in TFD. Sure, you can keep grinding to unlock new characters, upgrade other weapons/Descendants, and help out other players, but it can all be a bit meaningless after a while. A significant number of players have done everything the game has to offer, and naturally, they start to lose interest.

Adding some new endgame content would do wonders for the game and players compiled their wishes and ideas in a Reddit post, started by ManiacalMyr. “Seeing that megadungeons are on the horizon, what else would you like to see? Given that Magnum/Nexon has a non-zero history of accepting feedback, there is a chance your ideas could be seen!”

World Bosses and Events

World Bosses and events are a popular feature in many multiplayer games, like World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Guild Wars. In TFD, these could be actual Vulgus invasions, with multiple boss-level monsters, or even a single powerful Colossus.

“We need world bosses that pop up at least once every few hours and requires more than 1 person being able to solo it(winks at Hailey).” said Violent-fog, and “Realtime events on the hour, like you’d get an announcement in Albion: “Descendants, one of the failed intercepts is terrorizing Kingston, get there asap!”, and there’d be a colossus rampaging through. People from your server could choose to spawn in and take it out for unique resource/ rewards,” added LaplacesDemonz. Other games had some great success with events like these, so we are sure that TFD would benefit as well.

Endless Defense Missions

Another interesting proposition is to add an “endless” survival/defense-type mission. There are already similar Special Operations, but these would be specifically for endgame, with bosses spawning occasionally and granting you rewards based on how many waves you managed to survive. “I really want a never ending survival/defense mission. Were enemies get stronger with each wave. Something like warframe survival with life support also” said SlowlyReach. Even something like a roguelike mode.

Raids

Something that is almost confirmed (with “Megadungeons”), players have been asking for Raid-like missions since day one. We got Invasions, which are similar but not on the scale the players want. “Full scale raids but without crazy complex mechanics. The ones we have for invasions is fine so working them into a raid and adding wipe mechanics to failed input attempts would be nice.” said Damagecontrol86, and “Or even a dungeon that has colossus fights in between sections or even smaller colossus, titans or whatever they wanna call em, or two colossus for an encounter with players rotating.” added Johnny11447. Another great feature of multiple-boss-raids is that each can have different resistances/immunities, requiring squads to diversify in their builds/Descendants (and prevent players from defaulting to Bunny or Freyna).

All of these ideas sound awesome, and we truly hope that Nexon takes notice. Megadungeons are scheduled for early December and chances are they will have at least some mechanics similar to the ones suggested here.
