The First Descendant is an awesome game in its own right. It has cool characters, fun gunplay, and great boss battles (with a couple of misses, unfortunately). But, where the game is sorely lacking is in explanation. Some pretty important facts are just glossed over, leaving you scratching your head and asking “How does this work, again?” Thankfully, some experienced players got together to share some tips and tricks that will make your The-First-Descendant life easier.

Quick Guides To Help Players Out

One dedicated player, named Strawberryjellypie on Reddit, started a thread where they shared some useful tips. And no, they are not about dealing damage or anything like that, the tips belong more to a Quality-of-Life variety.

The best one, in our opinion, is “Launch directly into an Infiltration Mission or a Special Operations Mission from these two globes in Albion without having to travel to them in the overworld.” referring to two globes that you find to the left, just as you exit the primary “spawn point”. What a time saver!

Another good one is: “You can open the list of Descendants and pin them so you don’t have to cycle through them when changing.” There is a little Pin button, right above and to the right of the Descendant list.

Handy-Dandy Tips From the Community

More players offer their own advice and helpful tips. User BelsorPlays said: ” If you search “e Lepic” or just “e DescendantName” you see only the Ultimate”, referring to the fact that “e” is the last letter in “Ultimate”, so that way you can save some time. Next, moogs1 added: “Maybe add [that] bosses are weaker if you solo them. I think people are seeing the dmg they do in group fights and thinking they wouldn’t stand a chance solo.”

Finally, Yuzral added: “If you’re repeatedly grinding a mission, it’s often quicker to hold F2 to go to the summary and then hold R to restart than running back to the mission start point…Some ‘Duty of the Descendant’ missions have alternative amorphous rewards that can be selected using the ‘Change’ button in the top right corner of the mission start screen.”

There is something for everyone. Comments like “Even quite experienced players will find these useful” and “My mind is blown” are all over the place, proving the fact that there is always something new to learn. Especially if it will help you farm faster and waste less time.
