Since TFD is a grinding/farming game, speeding up your processes in any way will pay dividends in the long run. Be it increasing your weapon or Skill damage so you can clear opponents faster, or getting around faster, to finish your runs as quickly as possible. On that last note, players use Grappling Hooks to move around, and some skillful players have mastered their use to traverse the map as fast as possible. But, there is a convenient trick, unknown to the majority of players, that can help you move even faster. So, to help you out, some of The First Descendant players have shared a cool trick to make the most use of your Grappling Hooks.

How To Make More Distance Using Grappling Hooks in The First Descendant? Players Share a Trick

It has come to our attention that there is a simple trick when using Grappling Hooks, that will propel you forward even more, allowing you to clear long distances very quickly. The trick has been shared on Reddit by a user named BigDrag0n.

As they have said in their post: “You can perform a melee at the end of a horizontal grapple to get a bonus distance.” They even shared a video in their post, to show you how that looks in practice.

We have tested it out and have this to add: If you press the melee attack after you release the hook, or perform a jump at the end, you will perform a super-hero landing, leading you directly down. Good to know, but not what we’re looking for here.

The trick is to press the melee attack button right before you reach the end of your hook. That will propel you forward a considerable distance, and you’ll perform a pretty cool flip while doing so.

Oddly enough, this trick is known only to a handful of players. You get to see comments like “Did not know this and I’m just shy of 1000 hours. Thank you friend” from Shoddy_Audience261, and “Nearing 600 hrs first time I’m seeing this. Thank you.” from Tentonhammer83.

It does require a tiny bit of practice but we’re sure you’ll get the hang of it. We hope that you make the most use of this trick, and kudos to BigDrag0n for sharing this with the community.
