Everyone knows about the infamous paint system in TFD. The paints are one-use-only, and the worst part is that they can only be applied on purchased skins, ie, you cannot change the colors of your “default” Descendant skins. This has been a thorn in the TFD community’s side since day one. The designs of default skins are pretty good, but the players would love just a tiny bit of customization, namely, the ability to repaint them, and have asked Nexon time and time again. Finally, after a long battle, Nexon promises to make the base skins (both default and Ultimate) dyeable in The First Descendant.
You’ll Finally Be Able to Repaint Your Base Skins in The First Descendant, Promises Nexon
Just a couple of days ago, we had the long-awaited October 30 update. It added the highly-requested change to Reactors and Weapon Mountings, as well as some improvements to Defense Operations. Hot on the feels of the 1.1.6 Patch, Nexon posted a Community Q&A, where they provided answers to a lot (and we mean, a LOT) of community’s questions. On the topic of making base skins dyeable in The First Descendant, Nexon had this to say:
“We’ve listened to your requests, and with the start of Season 2, both Descendant and Ultimate Descendant default appearances will be dyeable. We apologize for the delay in implementing this highly requested feature.”
So, starting Season 2, you’ll finally be able to use all the Paints that you have on default skins. We speculate that this will massively increase the sale of Paints, resulting in increased revenue for Nexon. But, it is what the players requested for a long time, so everyone wins here. Sadly, it looks like the option to repaint weapons is still out of the picture.
As you’d expected, the community is pretty happy about this. They’ve been asking for the option to repaint the base skins since day one, and now, their wishes have come true. “Finally base descendant can be colored. Very nice” said nehemmiah, and “Great to see starter skins getting the option to be dyed. A lot of other good updates too,” added VicVipor. This is only one of the many updates coming our way in Season 2, and Nexon proves time and time again that they truly listen to their players.
