The First Descendant Players Noticed a Peculiar Detail in the New Invasion Puzzle Symbols

A long-anticipated TFD Update has been released on September 5. It dealt with the pressing issue of Hailey’s research materials and made some serious changes to the Invasion mission puzzles. Now, Hailey is easier to get, and puzzles have been reworked to be clearer and more visible, especially for players who have trouble seeing colors. With all those changes, some keen-eyes players have noticed a peculiar detail with the new puzzle symbols.

New Puzzle Symbols Are Now Matching With PlayStation Buttons

The symbols for puzzles in Order of Truth and Legion of Darkness Dungeons have been redesigned. Now the shapes are simpler so anyone will have an easier time differentiating between them since the previous ones were pretty confusing. However, some players noticed that these new symbols resemble the buttons on the PS controllers: X, Triangle, Circle, and Square.

This is almost certainly a nod to the PlayStation players. Moreover, each symbol has an easy-to-see number of dots, ranging from one to four, to further help players who have trouble memorizing those symbols.

Fans Love the New Symbols

The majority of the playerbase is thrilled with these changes, claiming them to be a good move by the devs. “…that definitely makes them easier to remember. Also noticed they put the dots above them as well, a very good change.” said xBlack_Heartx on a Reddit thread dealing with this topic.

A lot of players jokingly say they will miss the previous symbols, adding a list of names they have assigned to them. “Much easier than remembering Glass, Y, mushroom, upside down mushroom, C, spaceship” said f1carrierover. “I use trophy, fork, umbrella, boat and C” stated Willing-Contract5506, and “C, hourglass, moon, stirrup, radioactive symbol, fortune cookie” added Mad2DOG256.

Nexon really does everything they can to make the players’ experience as best as possible. They already implemented visual cues to help out players with hearing issues, and now they changed these symbols to make everything clearer and prevent any further confusion.
