“My New Fun Place” The First Descendant Players Happy With the New Void Vessel Missions

With the arrival of Season 2, we got Void Vessel missions. They are floating wreckages that can be found in the Void, that hold some ancient technology, treasures, or something more sinister. Kind of like Space Hulks in the Warhammer 40.000 universe. They are explored by the H.O.U.N.D., a special detachment of which Keelan and Ines are a part. You even get a pretty cool “tutorial” mission and a long cinematic with Keelan (even though some players experienced sound issues there). Once you complete the introductory mission, you get the option to play Void Vessel missions in a story mode, or as a “random map”, and it turns out that The First Descendant players are very happy with them, saying they are balanced and fun.

New Void Vessel Missions are Great, say The First Descendant Players

Void Vessel missions are procedurally generated, meaning that the layout of every run is different. Additionally, the devs added two new types of shield for the enemies: ones that can only be broken by firearms, and ones that can only be broken by Skills, encouraging more balanced builds. Finally, the rewards are pretty nifty, getting you either Keelan or Fellow parts (and in the future, the parts to unlock Ines most definitely), or various crafting materials. And, in general, The First Descendant players are more than happy with these Void Vessel missions.

The majority of players only have words of praise for Void Vessel. “They‘ve cooked, going in the right direction and if they continue to learn, engage with the community, man this game can be amazing” said Hooks_for_days, and “…I’ve been LOVING them as well, and didn’t know if others felt the same bc well.. there’s been a lot of doomposting lately. VV is very fun!” added Masitha.

Though, Not Everyone…

However, some say that they get stale pretty fast. You can once again speedrun through everything using Bunny with a good gun. Others claim that after getting the Keelan/Fellow materials, there is nothing exciting to do anymore, no incentive to repeat the missions. “This season content, if that’s all, then they did not cook enough time. As soon as people get both dog and character, what else to do? Same content from launch day?“ asked HatakeHyu.

As some fans point out, Mega Dungeons are on the way, for those who are already done with Void Vessels. But in any case, this will keep us players busy for a while, and it’s a breath of fresh air for sure.
