Nexon released a showcase video on November 15 that discussed everything that is in store for us in Season 2 of TFD. For almost an hour they talked in great detail about all the upcoming changes and new features, once again proving that they are really dedicated to The First Descendant and its community. We got some info on the upcoming new characters, dogs, new types of dungeons and missions, a detailed roadmap for Season 2, and teasers for a bunch of new skins. On that note, we’re about to get a lot of pretty cool skins, and Nexon decided to really double down in the holiday department, showing us Christmans and Lunar New Year Skins as well as teasing us with the promise of more holiday skins (like for Valentine’s Day). In a hilarious turn of events, some players claim that they found the real inspiration behind the upcoming Christmas Skins for Season 2 of The First Descendant.
“Sugar! Spice! And Viessa’s Ice!” Upcoming Christmas Skins Most Definitely Draw Inspiration From a Beloved Cartoon
For the upcoming Christmas, Nexon is preparing three skins: a blue one for Hailey, a green one for Valby, and a red one for Bunny. They are not identical, but all very similar to each other (the biggest difference is whether the outfit has a hood or not). But, if you position them in the right order, they start looking very familiar.
As one fan, named Right_Seaweed7101 noticed, the color of the outfits corresponds with the design of The Powerpuff Girls, a beloved Cartoon Network show running from the late ‘90s to the early 2000s. As the OP said, you don’t even have to recolor anything to cosplay Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup in TFD, the outfit colors are spot on.
Unsurprisingly, the community accepted this without question. “I knew Bubbles was my favourite for a reason!” said SSJXCloudStrife and “I wonder if this was the inspiration lol” added InterestingLibrary63. But the best comment by far is: “Sugar! Spice! And Viessa’s Ice!” by OcenWeaver. But, we have file a complaint here: we all know Freyna is the true Buttercup.
However you look at it, you can’t deny that the upcoming skins look way too similar to The Powerpuff Girls. With the right hairdos, you can even do a 100% accurate cosplay in Albion. Maybe they’ll add some “cosplay competition” community events in the future, who knows?
