Outposts are arguably the least popular of all the farming locations. You can either go in guns blazing for a small chance (the dreaded 20%) of getting the Amorphous Material Pattern or use Sharen (or Jayber, if you’re feeling creative) to infiltrate the Outpost stealthily for an additional chance of getting the AM. And you couldn’t even farm those Outposts efficiently, since they had a full minute of waiting time. So you basically wreck everything in 10 seconds, and then wait a whole minute for the reset. That does not sound like much, but if you have to repeat the same Outpost multiple times, it adds up, and the players are not too happy about it. Finally, Nexon has heard our pleas, and in the latest The First Descendant 1.1.7 Patch, they halved the Outpost cooldown time.
The First Descendant 1.1.7 Patch Notes
The main part of the Patch is the reduction of the Outpost cooldown. However, more useful changes are also here, like the reduction of the “hold-X-button” time, removing the hero landing animation when falling from a high altitude, offering Supply Coins as compensation for an earlier issue, fixes to some weapons (like the Albion Cavalry Guy and The Final Masterpiece), and more.

The First Descendant Players Happy With the Change
So, after Patch 1.1.7, you can now almost double your Outpost farming output in The First Descendant. Nexon said that completely removing the cooldown would be too much and they think that 30 seconds is the right call. Players have nothing but words of praise for this change. On X, narutoabd said “30 seconds lets go” and yano69k added “Another W patch, can’t stop winning”. As for Reddit you can see similar comments, like “Every patch a W” from Shyrshadi, and “Alright, let’s go farm some Amorphous!” from SpeechAcademic8565.
A lot of players jokingly say stuff like “How am I supposed to manage my inventory in-between now?” by Ragingdark and “aw I can’t look at my phone now” by Senji775.
All in all, another great move by Nexon. They also mentioned that they are planning a lot more changes to Outposts in Season 2. We’ll just have to wait and see.
