Leveling up your characters and weapons is one of the least popular aspects of TFD. The devs have been all over the place, improving and speeding up your character leveling, especially in the newish Invasion missions. Unfortunately, they left out weapon leveling, which is still as frustrating as ever. Fans everywhere are bemoaning the existence of weapon leveling and are waiting for something to be done about it. But, during all of that, some The First Descendant players found effective yet repetitive ways you can quickly level up your weapons if you have the right tools.
Leveling Your Weapons Can Be Done Fast
A video appeared, originally posted by the YouTuber Moxsy, showing a Descendant (Viessa) in the Defense Line area of The Fortress, standing near a Chill Void Fragment. The gist is that activating the Void Fragment “mission” will spawn a huge group of enemies, which the player eliminates with a single Skill. They then open up the game menu, abort the mission, and activate the Void Fragment mission again, which in turn spawns a new group of enemies, which they then eliminate again. Abort the mission, rinse and repeat. All the weapons equipped will get experience points from this, and you can max them out in about 14 minutes.
Effective But Repetitive
While this method is great, even though it requires you to have Viessa unlocked and equipped with specific Mods, it is not a solution to the problem. No one loves repetitive gameplay, which is expressed by several players on Reddit. User IPlay4E jokingly says: “Truly exhilarating gameplay” and OmeleggFace adds: “It’s so braindead though. I’d rather spend 30min also getting gold / amorphous materials… But to each their own”
The silver lining is that you can do it very fast (15 minutes is not that much) and in a Private game, ie, you don’t have to rely on anyone else. While we appreciate Moxsy’s video and ismysentencethatbad’s post for showing us how to deal with this chore more efficiently, weapon leveling is still an unpopular concept. Players have voiced their dissatisfaction with it time and time again, and we truly hope Nexon will do something about it in the next update. Until then, happy weapon leveling!
