Well, you can’t have an update without some errors. Thankfully, Nexon is quick to respond, and they will even give out some free 2025 Tokens as compensation for an error found in the New Year’s Luck Shop in The First Descendant.
On January 16 we had a massive TFD update, which added Ines, new game modes, various other fixes and improvements, and new events. As for the latter, the Lunar New Year is going strong in Albion, and we also got some special 2025 Tokens. You can give them to Anais for various rewards, and get more by completing daily and weekly tasks (like performing a research, completing missions, and all that jazz). But, it turns out that there is an error in the shop, where purchasing one Boost would give you a different one. Nexon already addressed the issue and will fix it with the upcoming hotfix, on January 22.
New Year’s Luck Shop Error Will Get Fixed and All The First Descendant Players Will Receive Free 2025 Tokens as Compensation
On January 20, Nexon announced that they are aware of the error in the Luck Shop, and will fix it very soon. Moreover, they will provide free Tokens to compensate for the mistake. As per the official announcement:
Error Details
- When exchanging Weapon Proficiency Boost (30%) and Descendant Experience Boost (30%) in the New Year’s Luck Shop, the items are swapped.
Example 1: Exchanging Weapon Proficiency Boost (30%) → Receiving Descendant Experience Boost (30%)
Example 2: Exchanging Descendant Experience Boost (30%) → Receiving Weapon Proficiency Boost (30%)
Fix Schedule
- After the hotfix patch 1.2.5 on January 22, 2025 (PST)
Compensation Details
- All Descendants who log in during the distribution period will receive 40 ‘2025 Tokens.’
- Rewards will be delivered to your in-game mailbox within approximately 10 minutes upon logging in during the specified period.
- Please ensure you claim your rewards before the mailbox expiration date, PST 2025.02.09 (Sun) 22:59.
- Distribution Period: PST After the hotfix patch on 2025.01.22(Wed) ~ 01.29(Wed) 22:59
Compensation

Players are really thankful for this, even though some think it is not enough. “Always compensating for your mistakes. Other developers need to learn this,” said KnightOw7, while magho70 is not too happy about it, saying: “You guys are very brave, besides it’s only on the 22nd, are you going to give it 40? It had to be at least 100. the devs are sinking the game”. Waiting for two days is not that big of a deal, and at least they are trying.
