The question of Photo Mode in TFD has been raised time and time again. A feature that allows you to take awesome shots would be a welcome addition, and many popular games have it. For example, Stellar Blade, a game visually similar to The First Descendant, has only recently got the official Photo Mode and the fans are running wild, posting thousands of photos daily on every social media imaginable. We know that Photo Mode is in the works for The First Descendant, but now the developers have revealed the general timeframe for when it is supposed to be added to the game.

A Timeframe for Photo Mode in The First Descendant Has Been Revealed

We recently found out that Photo Mode for TFD is really in the works but with no further detail. Thanks to the dev Q&A on Discord, we now have a timeframe. On the topic of Photo Mode, a dev named TFD_PD_Lee just said:

“We are aiming to develop a photo mode with a target release in Season 3.”

Season 2 has yet to go live, so it will take some time before we get to see Photo Mode in the game. The last major update in Season 2 will be somewhere in February (that’s the only one without the exact date), so we guess that Season 3 is scheduled for Spring, somewhere in April for example. The good news is that it gives the devs quite a lot of time to make it as best as possible. Stellar Blade’s Photo Mode is pretty great and has raised the bar a little bit, so Nexon should try to keep up. As one player said: “You might be aware of the hype towards Stellar Blade’s photo mode. Other players might expect a photo mode that’s equal to it. Just a heads up.”

Even though some fans are (justifiably) worried that a Photo Mode might have a negative impact on the game as it would encourage players to spend more time taking photos than actually playing, further solidifying the “nudge-nudge-wink-wink” reputation TFD already has, it could also have a positive impact, engaging more players with the game and boosting the player count.
