Hailey is the focal point of Season 1: Invasion. Sure, we have Invasion missions as well, but even they are predominantly played to get materials to unlock Hailey. The fans are thrilled by her gameplay (she already proved great against Colossi) and her design. Speaking of the design, Nexon has revealed a bunch of early concept sketches for Hailey, showing us how it all began, and all the ideas that resulted in Hailey we got today.
Early Designs For Hailey Were Quite Different
On September 3, the official TFD profile on X revealed two images with concept art for Hailey. They show us that the early design was quite different from the final product. It all looked less “military” and way more casual, with some pretty-looking sci-fi designs added to the mix.
There are versions with a cap (either a ball cap or one with goggles) and with different types of jackets. Of course, her giant sniper rifle is present in all of them
Fans Love the Early Designs so Much They Want One of Them as an Ultimate Skin
The fans, naturally, went all crazy about the concepts. One player, named wallcrawlingspidey on Reddit, started a thread where the players are praising the early sketches. The jacket is one of the fan-favorites, with RoyRoyRoyBoy saying: “…I’m such a huge fan of the big jacket design. You can have tight-fitting clothes that accentuate her figure while contrasting it with a cool, baggy jacket. Not to say the design we got is bad, it’s not. It’s just the jacket design offers a good contrast.” More players agree, with Boom_Shakazulu stating: “Now wait a minute, that one with the black jacket looks awesome! They should’ve done that as the base and the one that’s her actual base as a cosmetic.” and Megustanuts added: “Hailey with the jacket and the hat please. I’d actually buy those skins.”
But, the absolute favorite is the sci-fi version, with white hair and a futuristic body suit (the third one from the left, in the image above). Fans hope that Ultimate Hailey will look something like that. “This needs to be her ultimate skin, 10/10 make this happen.” said xZEROOblivious.
Others simply join in the praise of the design. User Pushaman 55 said: “Adding to the rest and saying, yes if this was a skin for her, it’s a Day 1 buy for me” and Zero_ocxo added: “…we need this as a skin! I really love the tech/sniper theme here!”
The concepts look awesome and now we’re interested in seeing the early concept sketches of all the Descendants. And we really hope that Ultimate Hailey will end up looking like the “tech sniper” sketch, or at least something similar.
