[Updated] “What Does It Mean?” Nexon Leaves a Mysterious Image and The First Descendant Players Speculate on What it Means

The First Descendant image of Freyna with question marks

Things have been silent in the world of TFD for a while now. And, quite unexpectedly, Nexon leaves a confusing and mysterious image on their X profile, leaving The First Descendant players to speculate on what it means.

The last major news or event for TFD was the ending of a six-day-long AMA session on Discord, where the devs answered quite a lot of questions. It is where we learned that a weapon rebalance is on the way, and that they plan to make Bunny’s Speed of Light meaningful again, that Serena’s wings would get an option to be toggled on and off completely, and that the missing Record No. 130 is indeed a bug. But, after that, the next thing the fans have to look forward to is the upcoming Devlive during PAX East, scheduled for Sunday, May 11, where they will mostly talk about the highly anticipated Season 3. But, while counting the days until PAX East, Nexon gave us a little surprise.

“PAX? Collaboration?” Nexon Leaves an Image With a Mysterious Letter “P” On It – The First Descendant Players Discuss What It Stands For

[Update] The new update on the situation is added below.

On May 5, TFD’s X page left an image of a printer with a letter “P” printed on a piece of paper, without any explanation. Naturally, the players immediately started speculating on what it means.

Wild Guesses

One of the more optimistic guesses is that the printer from the photo is used for printing on t-shirts, meaning that some official merch is finally on the way.

Others speculate that it may be a teaser for the upcoming collaboration (scheduled for Season 3). For example, a lot of fans are certain that Nier: Automata x TFD collab will happen at some point, and the studio that made Nier is called Platinum Games. Platinum Games, letter P, go figure!

Lastly, some believe that P stands for the name of the next Descendant. We have zero info on the upcoming Descendant, so their guess is as good as any.

PAX East

Apart from the wild guesses, the majority is certain that P stands for PAX East. The event is coming, and Nexon will be holding a livestream from there, as well as a Bunny/Serena cosplay event, and more.

Furthermore, the image was posted on Monday. There are seven days until the event (Monday included). PAX East has seven letters, one for each day. This is the most “sensible” answer, and if Nexon posts an image with the letter A on April 6, that will confirm our suspicions. We will find out soon enough.

And we did. As expected, on April 6, at the same hour as the day before, Nexon posted an image with a letter A.

This practically confirms that they are teasing PAX East. That is fine, but the community is surely a bit disappointed by it. While PAX is great, we are all aware that it is coming, and we, as the fans, were hoping for something, well, new to keep us excited. A bit underwhelming, to be honest.
