Grappling Hook is a popular tool in The First Descendant. Obviously inspired by other games, such as Destiny 2, Grappling Hook is used to get to hard-to-reach places or to speed you up while you traverse the map. There is even a pretty cool trick that the players found that can propel you even further. But that is not all. Clever The First Descendant players found a sneaky way you can practically use your Grappling Hook to climb forever. Let’s see what that is all about.

How to Climb Forever Using the Grappling Hook in The First Descendant

We all wanted to get to those hard-to-reach places in the game. Either to take the best screenshot ever, or simply as bragging rights. However, there is a way you can basically reach any height. It turns out that, using the right combination of Grappling Hook Modules and Inversion Reinforcements, you can climb almost forever.

The trick is to equip the Mid-Air Maneuvering Descendant Module, which lets you “catch on” in mid-air with your Grappling Hook, ie, you don’t have to aim to grab onto any surface. However, it has a longer-than-usual cooldown. That’s where the Inversion Reinforcements come into play. You must also select the Abyss Enhancement Inversion Reinforcement. It reduces the grappling hook cooldown, after you down some enemies, for 30 seconds.

As you can see, it can reduce the grappling hook cooldown by 30% in total. This is even shown in a video on Reddit, where you can see what this looks like in practice. Unsurprisingly, this combination is not that common and the players love it. You get comments like: “What is this witchcraft? I must try this asap.” by Spoonie360, and “Thanks for this, I love the whole grapple system!!” by ResidentLetterhead41.

It is important to note that Inversion Reinforcement buffs are changing, and chances are we won’t see Abyss Enhancement in future Seasons, so try to make the most of out this combo while it is still available.
