The last update hasn’t even cooled down properly, and the devs are already talking about the next one. Nexon just announced The First Descendant 1.2.19 Hotfix, and the upcoming change is already praised by the players. Let’s see what that is all about.

Barely a week ago, we got the famous 1.2.18 update, adding quite a lot to the game. The most prominent addition is, of course, the Dynamic Motion, responsible for the spike in the player count, as a lot of players returned to the game to test it out. Apart from that, we got a new boss, and some cool new features, like the Party Finder, and the Mutant Cells for Arche Tuning. Concerning the latter, Nexon plans to improve them and make farming for those Mutant Cells a bit easier.

Nexon Announced the 1.2.19 Hotfix for The First Descendant, Which Will Improve Mutant Cell Farming

The fans are still talking about the 1.2.18 update, but Nexon is not slowing down with changes and improvements. On May 27, they announced that a new Hotfix is right around the corner. Scheduled for May 29, it adds the following changes:

  • Spoils Boxes will be able to be set as Target Rewards
  • Content Improvements
  • Bug Fixes

Nexon is traditionally vague with the last two points, but the first one is what piqued everyone’s interest. For the record, Spoils Boxes occasionally drop as a reward in the Sigma Sector missions, and they hold Mutant Cells. Unfortunately, they have a pretty low drop rate, with High-Risk missions having a 5% chance to drop one, and normal difficulty Sigma Sector missions having only a 2.5% chance to drop Spoils Boxes as a reward. But, from May 29, you will be able to set them as Target Rewards, which will guarantee a drop after a number of repeats.

Players Excited for the Upcoming Spoils Boxes Changes

It is no surprise that The First Descendant players are excited for these changes. Mutant Cells are pretty powerful, and having only a 5% chance to get one is a bit demoralizing. The players already complained that the drop rate is way to low, so this change will be welcome by all.

“Making the spoils box as target reward is big W for a lot of us!” said InarosSins on X, and “Huge W but legit right as i’m at 20/27 Mutant cells. This just made the grind a huge relief because after i got all 27 then getting extra copies for each one after. But setting them as target reward is huge relief lol” added Papofries.

It is a bit of a surprise that these Boxes weren’t already an option for Target Rewards, but Nexon promptly stepped in to fix this. With all their setback and questionable decisions, we can’t deny that they do try and fix whatever is needed as quickly as possible (with the infamous audio bug on PS being the regrettable exception).
