It is only a few more days until we get the long-anticipated October 10 release. We are about to get a new Colossus, harder 400% Invasions, a new Ultimate Weapon, new Modules, and what everybody’s been waiting for: Ultimate Freyna. We know that she’s getting her own origin story quest and an Ultimate version. But, no one expected that Nexon would offer two Ultimate skins, and the fans went crazy.
Freyna’s Ultimate Variants Are a Success
A couple of days ago we got a preview video for the second Season 1 update, showcasing Ultimate Freyna (the first variant), new Dungeons, Halloween skins, and more. We all thought that was it until Nexon revealed another video on October 3.
With the caption “To match her fierce attitude, Ultimate Freyna’s skin takes it to the next level! Which version will you choose? Coming 10/10!” the video showcases not one but two versions of Ultimate Freyna. Both of the versions are quite…provocative, and let’s be real here, that was a conscious decision by Nexon. They know that attractiveness sells (the swimsuit skins proved that), so they are doubling down on it. And the preliminary results are more than positive.
Fans Ecstatic
It is no surprise that fans went crazy about the upcoming skins. The short video showcases both skins in all of their glory, with a very fitting soundtrack. As Crimson140 said: “Give the marketing team a raise.” and TheFaizyr added: “They really know how to advertise”. Nexon proved time and time again that they really know how to do great teasers and market their product.
Others praise the life-like look of the skin. “Dude graphics are seriously becoming impressive these days, at first I thought it was a real woman in cosplay,” said PoisonslashX, and “So real it looks like someone cosplaying Freyna,” added KnightOw7.
By far, our favorite comment is once again by KnightOw7, saying: “Freyna is trapped in Trauma 0, and I’m trapped in this video.” It is worth noting that Jinwook Oh, the man responsible for the design of Ultimate Bunny, designed Ultimate Freyna.
In conclusion, Nexon knows what sells and they are making the best of it. You can’t even be mad at them, since they are catering to their players’ wishes. But it is not enough to just make a revealing outfit, Nexon really outdone themselves with these skins, since they are appropriate for the character and double down on the whole toxic, black and green style Freyna’s famous for. We hope this will be a standard for all the new Ultimate skins moving forward.
