The new Season has brought a lot of new stuff to TFD, from a new Descendant and mission type, all the way to a plethora of new cosmetics. The icing on the cosmetics cake is the new bunch of Event Skins. Some of those are a real hit and fans love them, while other players are not sold on them, using one Descendant as a scapegoat. Let’s see what that is all about.
Fans Mostly Thrilled With the Event Skins
The majority of fans really do like the new set of Event skins. For the record, the Event skins are:
- Twisted Worship (Female-only Skin)
- Albion Fire Brigade (Unisex Skin)
- Gentlemanly (Male-only Skin)
- Executioner (Male-only Skin)
- Dead Bride (Female-only Skin)
- Ajax’s MK Dominator 02 Set (Ajax’s Evolving Skin)
The most popular skin for all of these is, without a doubt, the Twisted Worship Skin. Since the official release of Season 1, every social network has been filled with screenshots of Descendants in this “Sister-of-Battle-like” outfit. Other skins are also nothing to scoff at, with Gentlemanly and Dead Bride proving popular as well. So, what is the problem?
Others Claim Bunny Is the Reason for Not Getting New Skins
However, some do have issues with Event Skins, giving us a couple of reasons for that. First, they are miffed by the fact that there is no Event per se where you can actually get these Event Skins for free. They are purchasable in the shop, as any other. “It’s kinda funny to call these “event skins” it gives the picture that the game has an event where you can earn them by playing…” said R11PPER1.
The second reason is that almost all of these skins are usable by multiple characters, but you have to purchase them individually, for each Descendant. You can’t just purchase Twisted Worship, for example, and apply it to all your female Descendants, you have to purchase the same skin for each of them individually. “Gods forbid we could buy one skin as a bundle and have it available for all characters of that gender about the T.W. nun outfit for Hailey and I couldn’t use it on anyone else that’s pretty scummy.” said murkbos1993.
But, the weirdest reason for not getting these skins is that some players blame Bunny. To be more specific, they state that the whole game is “Bunny-centric” so there is no reason to purchase stuff for other characters. “What’s the point to buy these skin when every contents in game you designed asks us to use bunny?” asked cabalablack2 on X. There is even a whole Reddit thread dedicated to it, with the OP asking: “Anyone stops buying skins after realizing most time you only use bunny because it’s a hell if you don’t use her for most contents? Why should we buy skins for those characters we love but feel painful to use in most contents?”
It all boils down the the usual adage: “Play what you like”, only it also counts for purchasing skins. If you like using one character, no matter their efficiency or meta, you shouldn’t feel bad for buying them a new outfit. While we understand that Bunny is the most effective character for the majority of the game, you’re not competing with anyone. The only one you should strive to make happy is yourself, and if a cool Event Skin is how you’d do it, then go right ahead. Happy gaming!
