The First Descendant Devs Tease the Upcoming 1.2.3 Hotfix

The First Descendant Freyna with a Hotfix Preview title added

The holidays have come and gone so we can look forward to regular updates once more. On that note, Nexon just teased the upcoming 1.2.3. Hotfix for The First Descendant.

The devs have been really at work with all the constant updates and hotfixes. Especially in Season 2, with all the unexpected bugs that started appearing. The next major update is scheduled for January 16, where we will finally get Ines Raya as a playable Descendant, along with other new features, like Lunar New Year Skins or Weapon Cores. Recently, The First Descendant devs revealed which issues will get a fix in January in the upcoming updates, and the next Hotfix, number 1.2.3, is almost upon us.

Nexon Shares a Patch Preview for the Upcoming The First Descendant Hotfix 1.2.3

Regular updates are back and the first one in 2025 is surprisingly close. Nexon just posted a preview for Hotfix 1.2.3, and it is scheduled to drop on January 6, 11pm PST (or January 7, 7am GMT). Stuff that will get fixed is:

  • High-Power Rounds Weapon and Module Improvements
  • Control Convenience and Option Additions
  • Additional Content Improvements
  • Bug Fixes

High-Power Rounds are in a peculiar spot. On paper, they look amazing, but in practice, it’s usually hit-or-miss. Nexon recently increased the number of High-Power Rounds that you start with, so we’re excited to see what other changes they have in store.

What we do know is that a couple of issues will get fixed, as Nexon promised in a recent Known Issues post. We can expect a highly requested fix for the in-store discounts, which were not applied properly for the Monthly Crystallization Catalyst Package, Monthly Energy Activator Package, and Starter Boost Package. Another issue that will be fixed is the “stiffness” effect that sometimes appears during Gluttony fights.

The Hotfix itself has just gone live, so check out this article for the full patch notes.
