The latest dev livestream is over and Nexon revealed a ton of cool stuff. They talked about Keelan and his Skills in great detail, Void Vessels, Fellows, balance adjustments, and more. They ended the announcements part by showing the expanded roadmap for The First Descendant, with plans for Season 2 and beyond.
Expanded Roadmap for The First Descendant
When we had the first broadcast, where Nexon revealed Season 2 for the first time, they also showed the detailed roadmap for Season 2. We already covered that subject, but in summary, on December 5, we’ll get Keelan, Void Vessels, doggos, Ultimate Sharen, more Skins, and various other improvements. On January 16th, Ines Raya will join the game as a playable character, we’ll get Lunar Skins and more new features. Finally, the last update will be somewhere in February (the exact date is still unknown) and it will add some more skins and events.
And now, in the latest live broadcast, Nexon has revealed their plans for the future of the game. According to the expanded roadmap, we will have a new update after Season 2. It will add:

Dev Commentary
According to the devs, the update after Season 2 will go live in March. They are intentionally calling it “New Update” (instead of just “Season 3”). It is because it is more than a new Season, “it is a new milestone for us to realign the future roadmaps”. After the Season 2 update, Nexon will organize their plans for future updates and will share them with the community. Player opinion and feedback will have a major influence on the direction of those updates.
The core of the New Update are the new areas and the Descendant Growth system. The new areas will “expand the run-and-gun, hack-and-slash style battles, to provide players with more vibrant battle experience.” The Growth system will revolve around advancing the specs of your Descendants, in hopes of providing you with more build options. And of course, the Photo Mode, descendant progress transfer, from regular to Ultimate, Party search system, and similar features will also be added. The devs’ plan is for the New Update to be even bigger than the Season 2 update.
