Happy New Year everyone! January is here which means that the next major update is getting pretty close. And let’s not forget the dev livestream, which should air a couple of days before we get the January 16 Update. While waiting for all of that, Nexon was kind enough to reveal a list of issues they are working on. We heard a lot of complaints about various minor issues, from players being unable to get the Battle Pass Bonus Coins to discounts that are not applied properly. The First Descendant developers have identified these issues as well and have revealed which ones will get a fix sometime in January.

Some of The First Descendant Issues About to Get a Fix in January 2025

Just now, on January 2, Nexon revealed a list of known issues for January, showing all they are aware of and working on. Some of them are simply listed as “known,” while others have information on which hotfix will fix them. Those are listed below.

Issue with Discount Not Applied to Growth/Support Packages in the Shop

“We have identified an issue where discounts were not applied to certain growth/support packages available in the shop. This will be resolved through the upcoming Hotfix 1.2.3 patch. The affected packages are as follows: Monthly Crystallization Catalyst Package, Monthly Energy Activator Package, and Starter Boost Package. Caliber spent due to this issue will be refunded. Details regarding the refund schedule will be provided in a separate announcement.”

Valby’s “Tidal Wave” skill deals an abnormally high amount of damage when passing through Colossus

“This issue will be fixed in the 1.2.4 patch.”

Mislabeling of Skin Set for male Descendant as “Unisex” in the Store (English)

“This issue is scheduled to be fixed in January 2025. Players who purchased the skin due to this mislabeling can request a refund. Details on how to request a refund will be provided when the fix is implemented.”

Stiffness Occurs During the Mining Device Appearance in ‘Gluttony’

“An issue has been identified where a stiffness effect occurs during the mining device appearance sequence while playing the ‘Gluttony’ Interception mission. This issue will be resolved in the Hotfix 1.2.3 patch.“

Other issues have only been identified, such as the ones for Bonus Coins or anomalies with head skin previews, but have no “fix date”. We presume that Nexon is under a lot of pressure in January, seeing that the next major update is scheduled for January 16. Add the fact that they are preparing another dev livestream and let’s not forget that South Korea is still in the mourning period, so be lenient with your judgments.
