As it stands, TFD is pretty “clean” by today’s gaming standards (if we don’t count some not-so-modest Skins). The surroundings are colorful, the characters are all shiny and new, and the violence in the game boils down to explosions and eliminated enemies simply disappearing. Some fans even asked Nexon if they plan to add blood and gore to the game, but that is not on their priority list. And that’s fine, not every game has to be dark and gritty to have you emotionally invested and frustrated with (looking at you, Stardew Valley). However, things may get a tad bit grittier as there is a possibility that we get the damaged Bunny Skin, the one from The First Descendant “prologue”.
We May Get to See Damaged Bunny Skin From the Prologue Added to The First Descendant
When you first start playing TFD, you have to go through a special mission that serves as a tutorial and to get you up to speed with the game’s narrative. You get to pick Lepic, Viessa, or Ajax as your starting character and then you accompany Bunny on her way to secure the Ironheart. Things turn south when Karel appears and during the fight Bunny’s armor gets severely damaged, torn apart, with pieces missing. The whole point of Bunny being the first character you unlock is to get her a new armor. Truth be told, the whole scene is way darker than the actual game is, so we get why some fans expected TFD to be grittier.
In the dev Q&A on Discord, one fan offered the idea of adding Bunny’s ripped armor as a Skin. “You know how Bunny’s outfit got ripped/damaged in the intro of the game? I’d like to have the option to wear that ripped version of her outfit. This could slowly be expanded to other outfits as well…” asked ReiCaixa. They add that this is not a request for more skimpy outfits, just damaged versions of existing ones. Especially with the damaged Bunny’s outfit already being “right there”. The devs seemed to like the idea, and TFD_PD_LEE answered:
“Bunny’s ripped outfit in the prologue! I’ll discuss with the team to see if it can be added as a skin. Stay tuned!”
Damaged armor sets would be beyond awesome, adding a bit of grit to the game without messing up with the general idea and aesthetics. And we presume it wouldn’t be too much work, as the designers could use existing skins as a base. But we’re not game designers, this is purely our speculation. In any case, it looks like the devs like the idea as well, so we truly hope we get Bunny’s (and other Descendants’) damaged Skins somewhere in the future.
