Daily and weekly tasks are almost a staple of live service games. In TFD, we had Freyna’s Encrypted Vault, where you log into a certain website and accumulate points by completing certain daily and weekly tasks, which you turn into rewards of your choosing. It was pretty cool, but the logging-in process turned out to be unnecessarily complicated and some players had zero luck with it. It began a month ago and will end on October 30. The long-awaited October 30 Update is today, and Nexon announced that a new Daily Task event will replace Freyna’s Encrypted Vault in The First Descendant, starting today.
“Descendant’s Daily Task” A New Event for The First Descendant
From October 30 to November 20, TFD players will be able to complete specific daily and weekly tasks and get rewarded for them. The best part is that everything is handled in-game, ie, there are no external websites or anything like that. A sensible move by Nexon, as people had quite a lot of trouble with the previous event.
This time the rewards are more focused on resources (unfortunately, you cannot get weapon Blueprints this time), with the most valuable reward being one Crystallization Catalyst. Speaking of rewards, here is a list of tasks with their corresponding rewards.
Daily Tasks

- Task: Clear 4 Missions on any difficulty
- Reward: 1,000,000 Gold
- Evolution

Weekly Task
- Fine Tuning the Reactor
- Task: Enhance 1 Reactor
- Reward: One Crystallization Catalyst and one Resource Box
Everyone’s been asking: “what’s in the (Resource) Box?”, so we did some research. After completing the weekly task, we discovered that the Resouce Box contains:
- Resource Box:
- Pure Energy Residue x30
- Conducite Mettalic Foil x25
- Macromolecule Biogel x81
- Data Processing Neural Circuit x36
- Heat Plasma Battery x56
- Synthesized Artificial Biometal x9
- Fusion Plasma Battery x4
- Inorganic Biogel x15
- Divided Plasma Battery x19
- Encrypted Neural Circit x27
- Specialized Biometal x38
- Crystal Biogel x36
This event is great for all the players looking to do some research and now need a bunch of different Resources. And you’ll most probably be doing these tasks anyway, so might as well get rewarded for them.
Players Have Mixed Feelings About the New The First Descendant Daily Task Event
Speaking of players, their thoughts are pretty mixed. While some are delighted that the event is handled in-game this time, others are not too excited about the rewards. ”This is cool, be even cooler if you doubled the rewards tho. For crafting to cost so much resources and time, just feels like these rewards are lacking” said FrostiLocket on X, and ”…most of the rewards are too low or easily farmable.” said Frankie_inc. Some even have issues with the difficulty of these tasks, asking for something a bit more challenging in the future, like s0ulty, who said: “…I think some of us would appreciate if in addition to those daily and weekly tasks you would include some tasks that are more challenging and substantial. No one will lose anything, but your core audience will benefit.”
While it is true that the tasks could be more difficult/rewarding, they are completely free. Some players will greatly benefit from them. We are pretty sure that Nexon is preparing something cool for those who’d love a challenge.
