Looking for the best Leatherface build in Texas Chain Saw Massacre? Look no further. We’ve got you covered with the iconic killer’s skill tree, attributes, and most beneficial perks.
Gun Interactive’s Texas Chain Saw Massacre places the iconic slasher, Leatherface, front and center as the Slaughter Family’s trump card. As such, he’s the only character that must be present in a match to move forward, making him not only a top choice among players, but also a necessity. Unsurprisingly, the franchise mascot is the strongest character in the game, made downright deadly with tweaks to his attributes and perks. That said, it’s essential to master the franchise mascot’s gameplay and aim to achieve his best build. Let’s get into the gory details.
Best Build for Leatherface in Texas Chain Saw Massacre
Hands down, Leatherface is the most terrifying opponent you’ll face in TCM. With an over-the-top base Savagery score of 40 and an Endurance rating of 35, an encounter with him will essentially seal your fate. This is great news for fellow Family members, but the outlook is pretty grim for his Victims. Even so, there’s still some room for improvement. This can be accomplished with additional attribute points and complementary perks unlocked from his Skill Tree. With points distributed between his Savagery and Endurance, we’ll then focus on modifying Leatherface’s Maim ability with his best perks for an ideal build.
How To Get To Leatherface’s Skill Tree
Leatherface’s broken base build does come with one caveat in TCM. His Skill Tree isn’t quite as straightforward to navigate as other Family members, namely the Cook and Johnny. With that being said, you can start off with a primary path to nab three of his perks, then head back to pick up the last one from a random node. Take these steps for your first haul.
- Take a left.
- Take another left.
- Take a final left.
It’s a simple path, yes. However, picking up his last perk, Vial-ent, won’t be so easy. You can get it from a random node, but you may need to respec to net it successfully. Starting over won’t cost you, so don’t sweat it if necessary. After all the trouble, you’ll walk away with the killer’s best perks and 30 additional attribute points to boot.
Leatherface’s Attributes
With 30 more attribute points on hand, you can optimize each of Leatherface’s stats to better his overall build in TCM. While his base attributes are intimidating, to say the least, additional points can be used to help his modest Blood Harvesting score and max his Savagery and Endurance. Here’s the distribution we recommend.
- Savagery: +10 points
- Blood Harvesting: +10 points
- Endurance: +10 points
With a solid buff to each of his base stats, Leatherface will pack a hefty punch with significantly increased blood takeaway. You can opt to feed Grandpa with your harvest, but we have a different perk in mind to achieve the best Leatherface build.
Leatherface’s Best Perks
From his Skill Tree, you’ll have netted Leatherface’s most beneficial perks in TCM. In all honesty, none are totally ideal from a player’s standpoint, but we can make them work in this build. Here’s a closer look at each of the four unlocked perks, including one for Grandpa.
Perk | Description |
---|---|
Vial-ent | Increases damage at the cost of a full Vial of blood. |
Big Swings | Increases damage at the cost of 300% more Stamina. |
Tracker Tagged | Attacking Victims will notify all Family members of their location. |
Brute Strength (Grandpa) | Increases damage from melee attacks for all Family members. |
For all intents and purposes, the Vial-ent perk is best suited for our working build. This will add some extra power to each attack Leatherface lands, helped by the +10 to his Blood Harvesting attribute. That said, Big Swings can feasibly work thanks to the equal buff to Leatherface’s Endurance, but this method may not be quite as effective as the former.
Modifying Leatherface’s Ability
Leatherface’s signature Maim ability can be modified in three levels, earned with XP. Here’s what each increase entails.
- Level 1: Overheat Reduction
- Level 2: Overheat Reduction
- Level 3: Instant Activation
Because our guy is working with machinery, Overheat Reduction at Level 1 and 2 can come in handy during an encounter with a Victim. This will essentially allow him to wield his chainsaw for longer periods before it taps out. With enough XP, Leatherface’s Level 3 modifier Instant Activation will change the game, shaving time off start-up so you can get to hacking ASAP.
Altogether, these attribute buffs, perks, and ability modifiers will result in Leatherface’s best build, helping you to earn achievements with each win in TCM. Be sure to switch your character to tweak these aspects before you team up with friends for the next match.
