Can’t wait for the next Tekken game but you are unsure on what platforms it will be playable? Worry not, we have compiled a list of all release platforms for Tekken 8.

Tekken is the classic PlayStation’s fighting game. It was first released in 1994, and surprisingly it was not meant as a fighting game at all. Rather, it was Namco’s testing grounds for 3D character models. Well, it seems to have worked, because now we have one of the most popular fighting game franchises ever. Tekken 3 is counted as the best of them all and an entry point for a lot of gamers into the Tekken world. The game was PlayStation-only up until Tekken 6 when it was also available on Xbox. Tekken 7 was also playable on PC. But what about Tekken 8, what are all the release platforms for it? Let’s check it out.

All Release Platforms for Tekken 8

Tekken 8, the latest installment of the popular Tekken franchise, is playable on PC (via Steam) and current-gen consoles: Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5. Additionally, it has been confirmed that it fully supports cross-play. This means that, for example, if you prefer PS5, but your mate has Xbox Series X, you can still duke it out in the ring.

Is Tekken 8 on Last-Gen Consoles?

Sadly, no. Tekken 8 is a high-end game and demands more than Xbox One or PS4 can offer. It is practically the first fighting game to use the newest Unreal Engine 5. That requires specs that last-gen consoles simply do not have. The devs, Bandai Namco, have most probably realized that such a demanding game on last-gen platforms would be an unpleasant experience and not something they aim for.
