Space Marine 2 is Focus Entertainment’s latest game, a sequel to the insanely popular Space Marine by Relic Entertainment. Of course, a lot of time has passed since the release of the first game, and video game technology has advanced drastically in the meantime. Now, hordes of players praise Space Marine 2, its gameplay, and its visuals. Thousands of players fight daily in the ever-popular multiplayer missions or follow the story of Captain Titus in the most excellent campaign. Naturally, a game like that requires you to experience it in the best way possible, and for PS users, that just became possible. Space Marine 2 finally gets the PlayStation 5 Pro support.
Space Marine 2 Is PS5 Pro Enhanced
PlayStation 5 Pro is Sony’s latest and best console to date. It uses state-of-the-art tech to allow its users the best possible visual and gaming experience. To be able to make use of that, various devs started upgrading their games and releasing patches so their games could be played properly on the new console. Having the PS5 Pro Enhanced tag means that the game has been updated to make use of PS5’s modern tech, such as improved ray tracing, or PSSR.
Sony released a list of games that will have the tag on day one, and Space Marine 2 was, unfortunately, not on it. But now, two months after the release of PS5 Pro, Focus Entertainments posted:
“Today’s major SpaceMarine2 update brings PS5 Pro support! Purge in the name of the Emperor now with improved performance, in 4K & 60 FPS.“
This is a real treat for PS5 Pro users. As TerrelleGraham said on X: “I’m glad I stopped playing the campaign because now it looks and runs how I wanted it to. A big improvement compared to the base PS5’s 720p Performance mode.” and chalkfist added: “From the hour or so I’ve played with the update, this seems to be a good one. The image is much clearer and stability seems great. Importantly, no PSSR flicker thus far. The devs have done a good job.” Is anything better than defending the Imperium in 4K?
