In Space Marine 2, one of the resources that you gather is Requisition. You can get it by finishing your Class Trials, in PvE Operations, and by fighting other players in Eternal War. Once you have gathered enough, you use it to unlock new Perks and higher-tier weapons or customize your heraldry. A valuable resource to have for everyone except those dedicated Battle-Brothers who have managed to unlock everything. And now, Focus Entertainment has announced a Community Event for Space Marine 2 during which you get more Requisition than before.
Space Marine 2: Get Increased Requisition in Space Marine Gains From Friday, October 25 to Monday, October 28.
On October 25, Focus Entertainment posted that a Community Event has begun, and it will be active for the whole weekend. During the event, your PvP and PvE Requisition gains will be increased by 50%. In their own words: “This weekend, starting now and until Monday 28, Requisition rewards are increased by 50%. Make the most of it while protecting the Imperium!”
Mixed Reactions
Unfortunately, the fans are not extremely thrilled about this event. Sure, there are those that could very well use the extra Requisition. “Oh cool that’s awesome for new players or anyone trying to catch up,” said FatalEclypse_, and “I had plans to level a few things this weekend anyway so works out really nicely for me.” added li4mca.
However, some players, mostly those that are already maxed out, point out that this event is a bit useless for them. They would rather have increased Weapon XP, or better yet, a unique cosmetic. “Whilst this is good, some people don’t need requisition points. I’d like community events in the future to maybe take a leaf from HD2’s book. Kill 1,000,000 tyranids and everyone earns a pauldron with a tyranid skull on it, for example.” commented ELD3R_GoD.
Lately, SM2 is on rocky ground, with fans slamming the game after the last major update, so this event was probably a minor attempt by devs to remedy the situation. However, players are a bit tired of the Weapon XP grind, so an increase in Weapon XP gains that would have been welcomed by everyone. Still, we shouldn’t be looking a gift horse (event) in the mouth.
