Step 1: Purchase Aeos Gems
Similar to other games that include a Battle Pass system, the premium Battle Pass in Pokemon Unite can only be purchased using the game’s premium currency, called Aeos gems.
The prices of the two available premium Battle Passes are as follows:

Most players will be aware that the only way to get Aeos gems is by purchasing them using actual money. While the cost of getting 490 gems is usually $7.99, this can be cut in half by taking advantage of the first-time purchase bonus.
If this is your first time purchasing Aeos gems, then you can purchase the $3.99 Aeos gems bundle that normally gives players 245 gems. However, because the first-time bonus gives players 245 extra gems, they’ll have just enough to purchase the premium pass.
Unfortunately, if you’re looking to purchase the premium pass plus, then you’ll have to spend more compared to the regular pass. As for how much more, well that depends. If you were to buy it at full price without the first-time bonus. Then you would have to purchase a $19.99 one and a $3.99 one to have a total of 1,464 gems.
However, there seems to be a discount on the premium pass plus very often, which brings the price down to 840 Aeos gems.

Step 2: Purchase the Premium Pass
Now that you’ve reached the required trainer level and have purchased the needed Aeos gems, all that’s left to do is purchase the Battle Pass you want. Here’s how to do this:
- First, boot up the game using either your mobile device or Nintendo Switch
- Log in to your account and reach the main menu
- From here, you’ll see the Battle Pass icon on the screen. Click/tap on it (depending on your device)
- On this screen, you’ll be shown your current Battle Pass level and all claimable rewards. Look for an orange Obtain Premium Pass icon and click/tap on it.
- Finally, select whichever premium pass you want to purchase. When asked for a confirmation, select Yes, and that should be it!
Is the Premium Pass worth it?
Despite the stigma that spending money on a free game is a weird thing to do, the sheer number of rewards players get with the premium pass is too good to pass up. Additionally, seeing as how the premium pass plus delivers extra Battle Pass levels from the get-go, it might be a good idea to go for that instead. Especially if you aren’t sure if you’ll be able to max out the pass before the season ends.
